The Sunshine Coast Airport Terminal Expansion Project (TXP) involves the refurbishment and extension of the airport’s passenger terminal. The expansion will enable the airport to benefit from the forecast growth in international and domestic passenger numbers.
Project challenges include complex project staging to mitigate the project’s impact on the operation of the airport. Staging, buildability and sequencing the various project phases during the planning and design phase of the Project is a key challenge on the project. Mitigating potential construction impacts, delivering an acceptable level of service for passengers and other terminal users, and prioritising new capacity based on operational needs, is being targeted throughout the design and construction phases.
